San Lorenzo

San Lorenzo is an unincorporated, suburban community south of Oakland in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most of San Lorenzo’s houses and other structures were built during the community’s period of rapid growth from 1944 to 1958. The earliest growth of this period, from 1944 to 1951, was one of the nation’s first planned communities called San Lorenzo Village. The Village, developed by David Bohannon, included approximately 3,000 houses, as well as schools, churches, and commercial and civic buildings. Later other developers expanded San Lorenzo Village until the supply of undeveloped land was exhausted in the late 1950s.

San Lorenzo is conveniently located just south of Highway 238 and West of Highway 880. On the south side of the City is the Skywest Golf Course and the Hayward Executive Airport. Recent home buyers are pleased that the schools are walkable for their kids. In addition San Lorenzo has a really nice community center park.

San Lorenzo consists of mostly 1,000 – 1,500 square foot three bedroom homes on 5,000 – 6,000 square foot lots. The home styles are fairly conforming.
