Berkeley

The City of Berkeley is probably most recognized for being home to the world class University of California Berkeley.  Go Bears!

Berkeley is also known as being one of the most liberal cities in the United States.  Some might say this is due to the counter culture history of the city and/or the college town atmosphere.

Like Oakland, Berkeley has a diverse housing stock but is more expensive as median home prices in the city generally are higher than in Oakland.

For home buyers looking for a small town feel Berkeley is a good option.  With a worldly college town appeal Berkeley has many cultural offerings and diverse restaurant options.  Peets Coffee was founded here in 1966 by a Dutchman named Alfred Peet.  I remember visiting the first store with my mom, at Walnut and Vine Streets, in North Berkeley when I was a kid.

Berkeley and Oakland were my stomping grounds as a kid.  I grew up in Berkeley but moved to the border of Berkeley and Oakland while attending Berkeley High School.  Having lived in Berkeley and Oakland for over 40 years I know all the neighborhoods and how they’ve changed.  I’ve had great success helping home buyers and sellers in Berkeley and Oakland.
