It took some time for us to find the right home at the right price point, in the right area. Scott was always respectful, patient, gracious, and a good listener. We looked at countless homes and made a few offers. The second offer eventually fell through because after inspection, it ended up needing more work than I was willing to do. I was discouraged and wanted to take a break. But the next day Scott found another home in the same area that was less expensive and in better condition. "Scott guided our family through a long, complicated and difficult 2-month process of getting a loan for a home in California. Although rejected by our first lender, we were able to secure a loan through a lender that Scott recommended. Throughout this tedious process Scott was in constant communication with the banks, the seller’s real estate agent, the city inspector’s office (the house was in non-compliance) and our family. As a licensed appraiser, he assisted the appraiser in analyzing the value of the home. "Scott is a very unique find as a realtor. He is incredibly gifted at all aspects of the home buying process. Scott is a licensed appraiser, buys and remodels properties, is very organized and punctual, honest, a clear and a tactful communicator, and a skilled negotiator. Scott helped our family look for multi-family properties in the Bay Area. He knows the different areas very well as he buys and sells his own remodeled properties and is well versed in the ever changing markets. He was able to accurately appraise the properties we looked at using a variety of techniques he learned and uses as a licensed appraiser. Scott is extremely knowledgable when it comes to assessing how much it would cost to fix up a property. He can read through a 20 page inspection and breakdown what has to be fixed, how much it will cost and who we should call to do the work. He also can go into the house and give you ideas on how to remodel it and how much it would cost. Scott also was able to navigate the city inspector's office to determine who was responsible for dealing with code violations. He helped the seller get the code violation removed that the seller didn't even know existed. Finally, Scott made sure we got the best possible price. He knew how to approach the negotiation; using his appraising expertise to explain our offer and once in contract he used the contingencies to get the price down even lower. Scott knew when we should not push the seller anymore and to avoid upsetting the deal. We felt extremely supported by Scott throughout the entire process. It was his honesty, integrity and patience that we appreciated the most. He steered us away from bad deals and was in no rush. He wanted us to find a great property and we did. Scott helped us close an incredibly difficult deal. We would never have found or closed on this home if it wasn't for Scott. I highly recommend working with him.
